Stan Collins brings over 14 years of experience in the towing industry to SAS Towing and Recovery Inc., where he has been a dedicated team member for 4 years. As the primary operator of "Billy The Kid," SAS's flagship, award-winning rotator, Stan specializes in handling challenging recoveries with precision and expertise.
His favorite tow jobs involve trash trucks, which he approaches with the same professionalism that he believes sets SAS Towing apart from other companies. Outside of work, Stan enjoys working in his shop, listening to music, and advocating for the Second Amendment. Guided by the humorous advice, "Forgiveness is divine, but NEVER pay full price for late pizza," Stan approaches his work and life with a blend of commitment and levity. Derek Talley, Heavy Duty Operator
Derek Talley has been an integral part of SAS Towing and Recovery Inc. since 2017, working with both Heavy and Light Duty wreckers out of the Lometa Division. Serving rural communities across Lampasas, San Saba, and Goldthwaite, Texas, Derek brings his skills and dedication to those in need, whether he's operating his black 2002 Peterbilt Heavy Wrecker or his white Dodge 5500 Conventional Wrecker.
With a particular appreciation for towing classic show cars, Derek’s favorite part of the job is providing assistance to people on some of their hardest days. He started in the towing industry in 2015, drawn to the challenge, and soon found it to be a fulfilling career path. Derek is especially proud of SAS Towing's commitment to community support and the highly trained operators that set it apart from others in the industry.
Beyond towing, Derek enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends and supporting the Lometa community he calls home. Guided by the philosophy, “You get out of this life with what you put into it,” Derek brings dedication and a positive attitude to his role, embodying the spirit of SAS Towing and Recovery Inc.
A skilled operator at SAS Towing and Recovery Inc., having joined the team a year and a half ago. As one of the two operators of "Doc Holiday," SAS's 50-ton rotator, Matt also steps in to run other heavy wreckers as needed. With 5.5 years of experience in the towing industry, he specializes in complex recoveries where precision is key—a skill he honed through years of training and dedication to handling challenging recoveries.
Matt’s favorite part of the job is handling rollovers and recoveries, especially those requiring meticulous attention to detail. He values SAS for its commitment to supporting operators as fathers and husbands, creating a balanced environment where family comes first.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys working on cars and is an advocate for the Second Amendment. His journey into towing began with car hauling, initially working for himself before progressing to larger, more complex jobs. His guiding advice is, "Listen to the people around you; they may see something in a way that you don’t.

Paul Dunaway, Heavy Duty Operator
Paul Dunaway has been a dedicated team member at SAS Towing and Recovery Inc. for nearly two years, bringing with him over eight years of experience in the towing industry. Operating “Breast Cancer Awareness 50-ton wrecker. Paul has a passion for handling a variety of tows, especially day cab tractors. He loves the dynamic nature of his work, where each day brings new challenges and experiences.
Paul’s journey into towing started as a seasonal job during the winters when he worked as a firefighter for the USDA Forest Service. His interest in towing grew, and he has since built a solid career in the field. His professionalism is something he believes sets SAS Towing apart from other companies in the industry. Outside of work, Paul enjoys hunting and fishing, embracing the outdoors whenever he gets the chance. His guiding principle, “Focus on what you can control,” keeps him grounded and committed both on and off the job.
Damon Morris has been with SAS Towing and Recovery Inc. for five months, bringing a wealth of experience from 24 years in the towing industry. Starting in 2000 after serving in the U.S. Army, Damon launched his career driving an International flatbed wrecker in Kerrville, Texas. Now, he operates "The OG," a red and black Peterbilt 379 equipped with a Century 9055, embodying SAS's standard of trust and independence in the workplace.
Damon's favorite tows involve hauling bobtail tractors, which he finds satisfyingly straightforward—just a quick hookup and roll! He values the independence his role provides, appreciating SAS for its trust-first approach and lack of micromanagement, a defining trait that he feels truly sets SAS apart from other towing companies.
With hobbies that include reloading ammunition and trading firearms through his Federal Firearms License (FFL), Damon brings a disciplined focus and reliability to his work. His approach to the industry is rooted in continual improvement, following the best advice he's received and frequently shares: "Never stop learning. If you learn something new once a day, it makes you better today than you were yesterday."

Butch Holifield, Heavy Duty/Hot Shot Operator
With 29 years in the towing industry, Butch brings invaluable expertise and experience to SAS Towing and Recovery Inc., where he has been a key team member for the past year. As a Heavy Wrecker Operator, Butch is known for his versatility and dedication to stepping in wherever he's needed. His ability to handle any field task allows other operators to enjoy well-deserved time off, showcasing his commitment to teamwork and support.
One of Butch's favorite parts of the job is working outdoors, and he's especially fond of hauling vehicles for his buddies at Waste Management. He values SAS Towing's family-oriented culture, which he believes sets the company apart in the industry.
In his free time, Butch loves building things and spending quality time with his kids and grandkids. His journey in towing began after watching his brother excel in the industry, which inspired him to join and make his own mark.
Butch’s best advice? "Keep your head on a swivel and watch for feet"—words that reflect his seasoned awareness and dedication to safety on every job.
